The Queer Appear, Here!

Raw LGBTQI+ experiences shared live through performance. Told through movement, dance, circus, pole, sound, and live vocals.

A powerful new performance celebrating Cork's trans+, gender non-conforming, or gender creative community is coming to Circus Factory this July 30th.

The show, which combines movement, dance, circus, pole work, sound and live vocals, is developed as a response to the stories of six anonymous LGBTQI+ voices who shared their experience when asked the question:

"What would you like the wider public to know about your experience or identity that you feel is misunderstood?"

Rather than representing the participants directly, the performers of The Queer Appear, Here! create responses to their words, stories and perspectives. The project was created to give space to these voices without requiring participants to place themselves in the public. By providing a platform for this work, Circus Factory continues its mission of championing creativity, representation and access within the arts, while creating safe and supportive spaces for LGBTQI+ artists and participants.

Circus Factory is accessible by wheelchair. Seating can be rearranged to suit attendees. The ramp is steeper than most; however, staff will be on hand should you require assistance. There are no wheelchair accessible toilet facilities at present.
