About Craic agus Cork

Craic agus Cork was created:

  • To increase opportunities to promote small to medium events in Cork

  • As a place for Arts marketers, artists, or producers to reach arts and events audiences

  • To platform the arts, not hide them under ambiguous labels.

About the Creator Behind Craic agus Cork:
Marketing Meg

Marketing Meg is an Arts and Events marketer who is passionate about the arts and communication. She often describes herself as a translator, bridging the gap between what the artist wants to say and what the audience understands.

Marketing Meg has 7+ years working in Marketing and has a BBus Hons in Marketing, and a Masters in Public Relations and New Media. During her work, she often creates marketing campaigns for festivals, one-off and multi-day events. She also creates and edits video content and graphics, manages social media, and websites.

Craic agus Cork is her passion project. She created it out of a need to bring Arts events to people who want them and create a space where others can promote their event. As an Arts Marketeer, she found there were fewer opportunities to promote smaller events and niche events. Bigger events were always monopolising media coverage and smaller events fell through the gap.

As someone who always flicks through event guides, she found that they were hard to navigate when it came to specific art forms. They were grouped into headings and it was left to the user to figure out where to go.

Marketing Meg wants to create a home for the arts in Cork to connect organisers, producers, artists, and marketers with the right people.

Work with Marketing Meg

Marketing Meg works directly with artists, venues, organisations, festivals, and events. She has worked with artists on touring awards, shows in Cork Midsummer, and created and managed marketing campaigns for arts organisations and festivals.
