Hiring: CEO at Fastnet Film Festival

Fastnet Film Festival is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee its year-round operations, strategic development and annual festival delivery.

Reporting directly to the Board, the successful candidate will play a central role in shaping the festival's future, from developing annual plans and securing funding to managing operations, supporting staff and volunteers, and ensuring the successful delivery of each festival edition.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity suited to someone who understands the cultural sector and appreciates the importance of community involvement in the arts.

A key priority will be strengthening Fastnet's financial stability, organisational capacity and international profile without losing the informal, accessible and filmmaker-focused atmosphere that has defined the festival for nearly two decades.

The role offers an opportunity to help shape the future of one of West Cork's established cultural festivals while ensuring its independent spirit remains at the centre of everything it does.

About Fastnet Film Festival

The Fastnet Film Festival is an independent film festival and registered charity based in Schull, West Cork. Internationally recognised for its distinctive approach to cinema, the festival has spent 19 years bringing filmmakers, audiences and industry professionals together in a welcoming, community-led environment.

Unlike more traditional film festivals, Fastnet takes cinema beyond the usual screening rooms. With no dedicated cinema in Schull, the village itself becomes the festival venue each year. Local pubs, restaurants, shops and community spaces are transformed into screening locations, creating a unique experience where film is woven into everyday village life.

Guided by its motto, 'Our Village Is Our Screen,' the festival places creativity, accessibility and genuine connections at the heart of its programme. Supported by a dedicated network of volunteers, Fastnet has maintained its independent character while building a reputation within the international film community.

As the festival continues to develop, its organisers are looking to strengthen its long-term sustainability while preserving the qualities that make it different.

Closing date October 30th
